NEW ARRIVAL Made by their Custom Shop in Montana, Gibson introduced the Billie Joe Armstrong J-180, in a limited run of 300 guitars in 2011. The instrument is styled after the J-180 "Jumbo," a guitar designed as a scaled-down version of the big, rounded SJ-200 "Super Jumbo". Legendary in its own right, the J-180 formed the basis for the distinctive Everly Brothers model of the '60s, and remains one of Gibson's most popular flat-tops. With its big 16"-wide body, the guitar features a Sitka Spruce top with Maple back and sides, hand-sprayed Ebony nitrocellulose finish with custom double tortoiseshell J-180 pickguards, and graduated mother-of-pearl star inlays on its Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The guitar has a big resonant sound, great for strumming but detailed and expressive enough to handle fingerstyle play. The guitar has an active Fishman underside pickup with tone and volume controls mounted inside the soundhole, and comes in it's original hard case with certificate signed by Ren Ferguson.
