NEW ARRIVAL In the 1930s, Montgomery Ward had guitars made for them with the "Carson J Robison" name, to take advantage of the popularity of that cowboy singing star of the day. In Autumn 1936, Gibson Guitars of Kalamazoo MI were commissioned to make these guitars for Montgomery Wards. The woods, finish, and workmanship of one of America’s finest guitar companies is shown in this guitar. The tone is much like a Prewar Gibson for obvious reasons - it is a Gibson Guitar. The closest example would be a Kalamazoo KG14 - the famous Robert Johnson guitar. Or it could be likened to a Gibson L00 only with ladder bracing. Either way it’s a great sounding guitar in fantastic condition with no cracks or repairs. It has an authentic 30’s blues vibe, fingerpicks really easily, and handles strumming surprisingly well. The guitar comes in a non original hard case.
