NEW ARRIVALJack Briggs is fast becoming a well renowned luthier. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina he began building guitars in 2000 to a very high quality. The story goes that he was a session player, frustrated that he could never find one guitar that did everything he needed. So he decided to build himself a guitar to fit his requirements, and got so many compliments from other session musicians that he decided to go into business. This example borrows it’s style from PRS, feels like a Les Paul, and has coil spitting pickups that give Strat tones. The body is solid one piece Honduras Mahogany, as is the neck with a stunning Cocobolo fingerboard and Paua diagonal inlays. The two humbucker pickups are Seymour Duncan; Custom Custom in the bridge and a APH-1N (alnico 2 pro) in the neck. The 5-way switch offers standard bridge/both/neck but also two tapped options in between which really are good and genuinely sound like single coils. The bridge and stop tail are both Gotoh locking units and very high quality, and the Grover tuners are top of the range. All in all it’s a fantastic guitar, hugely versatile, and may be very desirable in the future as his name and reputation grows. The guitar comes in a red TKL ‘suitcase’ style hard case.
