1932 Harmony Hawaiian Stencil Parlour

SOLD  1930’s Harmony ‘Stencil’ guitars have become very popular over the last few years. They’re a great way to own a piece of 30’s guitar history without breaking the bank. Stencil guitars often show scenes of cowboys sitting around camp fires or on horseback. But the early 30’s marked the end of the Hawaiian guitar boom. So to find a Hawaiian stencil scene is quite rare, and when it’s on a guitar in fantastic condition with great playability, it’s quite special. This guitar is from the more affordable end of depression era. It’s in all original condition, complete with neck reset so it plays like new. The top, back and sides are solid Birch. The neck is Mahogany, topped with an ebonised Maple fingerboard. The natural-finished top sports a fresh-looking tropical scene with palm trees and birds of paradise. The body is finished in a Mahogany shade, with a sunburst on the back. The nut and bridge are ebonised Maple. The guitar is a great blues box with percussive trebles, woody mids and an active bass response. It has that elusive open-voiced, feather-light, ladder-braced sound. Not just a great piece of history, but a really fun guitar to play, with a tone very few guitars can attain. It comes in a non original hard case.
