1939 Gibson HG-00

SOLD  Only made between 1937 – 1942, the HG-00 is a rarer 12 fret version of an L-00. The guitar was fitted with a wider neck for Hawaiian style play, and revived the longer 12 fret body of the earliest L-00 models. The bracing is slightly heavier than on an L-00, giving more thump in the bass, greater overall volume and longer sustain. Altogether it’s a very versatile guitar, and the wider neck allows more generous string spacing. The guitar is in very well played condition, and sounds all the better for it. The tone is rich and mature, and very dynamic sounding. There are multiple scrapes and scratches which add to the whole vintage vibe and feel, and the playing experience is just a joy. There’s a repaired centre seam crack and two repaired back cracks – all solid and good to go. The guitar comes in a non original vintage hard case.
