1958 Gibson Country Western – £5499

NEW ARRIVAL  60’s Gibson slope shouldered dreadnoughts are fantastic guitars, but the jump to a 50’s model is incredible, in fact I could run out of superlatives describing it’s sound. So let’s just say it’s everything you could want from a vintage Gibson, hugely versatile, well balanced with great resonance and clarity, capable of any playing style, and a truly inspirational guitar to play. It’s all about the balance between feel and tone. This Country Western is in excellent condition, the honeyed Spruce top contrasting beautifully with the tortoise pickguard. The neck feels full, and the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard feels very responsive. There’s just the right amount of playwear, so you know it’s been played and loved in equal amounts. It has the very common repaired soundhole crack, plus a plugged jack socket on the lower rim. All in all a fine example of why Gibson dreadnoughts are so revered. Pick it up and you won’t want to put it down. The guitar comes in a later Gibson hard case.
