1992 Gibson L-00 1936 Reissue – £2199

NEW ARRIVAL The 1936 L-00 Reissue is one of Gibson’s first historic acoustic reissues, and a great example of them trying to capture a moment in history. The L-00 is one of the most iconic blues guitars ever, and by choosing a 1936 model they picked one of the most visually appealing – a black Nitro finish with a tortoiseshell pickguard. It’s a great example of Gibson’s attention to detail, from the script Gibson headstock logo and the rectangular bridge, with a bound fingerboard and double bound body, this guitar really looks the part. With Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, plus the old style narrow shouldered 00 size body, this guitar is made to play the blues, although the X bracing adds to the guitar’s versatility. The guitar has a warm, mellow tone, suited for both fingerstyle and soloing, as well as light strumming. As a 30 year old guitar it’s in good condition, with no cracks or repairs, just some light lacquer checking, and a replaced tuner button. The guitar has an LR Baggs transducer pickup fitted, and comes in a non original hard case.
