1990 Yamaha LL-35 – £1799
NEW ARRIVAL Only produced between 1984 – 1996, the LL-35 is a Yamaha Custom Shop guitar, and top of the range of the LL series. According to the guitar’s paperwork, the back and sides are Jacaranda, and there are differing opinions as to whether this is exactly the same as Brazilian Rosewood, or a similar variant. What I can say is that it has the same exotic figuring, and an instantly recognisable tone that, whenever I hear it, I think of as Brazilian. With a White Spruce top, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, and scalloped bracing, the guitar has a dynamic tone, very resonant, with long sustain, the bass is full, the mids are detailed, and the trebles are strong. It can handle any playing style from heavy strumming through to delicate fingerstyle. The guitar is in very good condition, with one repaired top crack, and has upgraded Gotoh 510 tuners. It has an LR Baggs active pickup system fitted, and comes in it’s original deluxe hard case.
