2019 Gibson J45 125th Anniversary – £2999

NEW ARRIVAL  The J45 is Gibson’s best selling acoustic of all time. First introduced in 1942, this iconic guitar has become the cornerstone of its round-shoulder, dreadnought line. World renowned for its full, balanced tone, warm bass and excellent projection. For Gibson’s 125th Anniversary, their Custom Shop produced a limited run of 125 guitars, to celebrate this landmark. It features a Lutz Spruce top finished in a beautiful Autumn Burst, with stunning flamed Mahogany back and sides and 125th Anniversary headstock inlays. There’s a bound Rosewood fingerboard, a bound headstock, plus gold open back Grover tuners. Tonally it what you’d hope for in a J45, only it’s somehow more polished and more refined. From a playability point of view it oozes quality, very comfortable, balanced and smooth. Visually it’s a stunner, and the 125th Anniversary headstock is very special. Obviously it’s a very collectable guitar, but it’s been made to be played, not kept in a glass cabinet. In it’s 5 years the tone has clearly opened up and is already starting to mature. The guitar has an LR Baggs VTC pickup fitted, and comes in an anniversary hard case with a limited edition certificate.
