1930’s Richter Stencil Top Parlour Guitar – £799

NEW ARRIVAL  Richter guitars were made in Chicago, between 1920 – 1943, although it’s believed a lot of these guitars were produced by Harmony. Initially in the early 1930’s a stencil top was deemed a more affordable way of decorating a guitar rather than a sunburst – often featuring a Hawaiian or cowboy scene. But as the decade went on, a lot of these were hand painted, and far more complex in design than a stencil top. This example features an all Birch body with a ‘Gumby’ style headstock, and hand painted floral design. As with most of these Chicago built guitars, it’s ladder braced, and has an immediately recognisable honky blues tone, with strong mids. It also works well with old time, ragtime and country picking. The guitar is in excellent condition and feels very comfortable to play, with good action, and a responsive fingerboard.  It comes in a non original hard case.
