1954 Kay Old Kraftsman K10 – £399

NEW ARRIVAL  During the 50’s, Chicago based Kay made guitars for various brands, and this K10 model was made for Old Kraftsman. one of their few all Mahogany guitars. It has a few typical Kay features – a pinless wraparound bridge, step headstock shape, and chunky ‘baseball bat’ neck. The guitar has clearly been played a lot, and has it’s share of battle scars – but the tone has only benefitted from such a hard life. The Mahogany body gives a real warmth to the tone, very smooth sounding with crystal clear trebles. It fingerpicks and flat picks really well, and has a rich tone which works well for strumming. It’s a beautifully understated guitar, with classic lines and no over embellishment. A piece of 50’s American history at a very affordable price.
