1957 Hoyer Archtop
SOLD Post second world war West German archtops have become renowned for their stylish looks and great value for money. Arnold Hoyer in particular produced some strikingly good looking guitars, often using cats eyes and lightning bolts rather than traditional F holes. This beautiful example was made in approximately 1957, and it was around this time when rock and roll was beginning to really take root in West Germany, paving the way for the scene the Beatles exploded into, in Hamburg in the 60’s. Tonally this guitar sounds really clean and perfectly fitting for the blues and jazz music of the 50’s and 60’s. It also has a comfortable neck with very good action all the way along the fingerboard. The guitar’s in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs, just the kind of nicks and dings you’d expect from a well played 50’s guitar.
