NEW ARRIVAL
This is a beautiful and hard to find example of a 40's Wartime
Gibson archtop, in a stunning tobacco sunburst. It's all original
apart from changed machine heads, it still has it's pickguard which
is quite unusual, and also has the very desirable Script Logo
headstock. The tone is voiced beautifully for blues, jazz and
swing, has a very comfortable neck - quite chunky with a gentle V
profile - and a great playing action all the way up the neck. It
has the kind of playwear you'd expect from a 72 year old guitar,
and has two professionally repaired cracks - one on the back just
right of centre, the other just above the bass side F hole - which
don't move and are structurally sound. This guitar looks, feels and
sounds fantastic, and has the kind of vintage vibe that is
impossible to replicate in a reissue. It comes in a non original
hard case.
