NEW ARRIVAL Swiss luthier Claudio Pagelli makes one off guitars that are as much works of art as they are musical instruments, and his guitars fetch crazy money. This Pagelli style guitar by Sorrentino has similar extreme looks, and is built using a feast of exotic tone woods. It features a hand carved solid Mahogany top with angular soundhole, Mahogany and Zebrano sides and a Zebrano back. The Mahogany neck has Abalone inlays, and the headstock and tailpiece are topped with Brazilian Rosewood. There’s an Ebony fingerboard and bridge, and bone saddle and Ebony nut. The multiple binding features Mahogany, Maple and Ebony in both chequerboard and herringbone styles. As well as looking like a piece of art, the guitar actually plays very well, and works well for both strumming and fingerstyle, and the tone sits somewhere between an archtop and a flat top. Quite a smooth rich sound. It's in very good condition, and features an Artec AGE-MC blend pickup which sounds great plugged in.
