NEW ARRIVAL Only made between 1995 and 1998, the Alvarez 5055 Bluesman is an unusual example of a flat topped acoustic with f-holes. It features a Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides, a Mahogany neck with bound Rosewood fingerboard, and a Rosewood bridge. The body has a multiple bound top and is finished in a very striking vintage tobacco sunburst. Tonally it sits somewhere between a flat top and an arch top - the mids and trebles are more prominent, and there’s a real bite to the tone, quite bright with good attack. There’s an active under saddle pickup fitted, which gives a fuller sound than when unplugged. The action is very good and the neck feels comfortable. The guitar has upgraded Kluson tuners to add to the vintage vibe.
