NEW ARRIVAL John Evans is an up and coming luthier making high end replicas of his own 1929 Gibson L-1. His guitars are built very lightly, with a short scale 12th fret neck join, pyramid bridge, and fully rounded lower bout. This example features an Adirondack Spruce top with African Mahogany back and sides, which gives the smaller body design exceptional warmth and clarity, with great projection. Played with a pick, you access more of the high end mids for a great attack, played fingerstyle, the L-1 responds beautifully - you engage all of that sweet Mahogany tone for warm, round notes. It plays like a far more expensive guitar, and may become collectable in the future The guitar is in excellent condition, just signs of light playwear, and comes in it’s original hard case.
