NEW ARRIVAL Rob Armstrong has been making custom made, one off guitars since 1972, and some of his more famous customers include George Harrison, Alvin Lee, Joe Brown, Bert Jansch and Martin Barre - a very eclectic bunch indeed. This particular guitar was made for Gordon Giltrap. Made in 1981 it features a tightly grained Spruce top, with the most beautifully figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Tonally the guitar is very resonant, beautifully balanced and exceptionally responsive. As a parlour style guitar it works superbly with fingerstyle, although it handles light strumming really well. The tone is bright, crisp and resonant, and single notes ring out with full tone and great sustain. At 38 years old the guitar has a mature tone, and plenty of nicks, dings and lacquer checking. It has a Headway underside pickup fitted, with tone and volume controls mounted on the shoulder. The guitar comes in it's original Hiscox hard case, hand signed by Gordon.
